Camping was a load of fun! I will have pictures up soon. I hope everyone had a wonderful time and that students slept well throughout the rest of the weekend.
This week, the fun continues as we look forward to both Sports Day and Culture Day. For Sports Day on Wednesday, May 17, students are free to wear their team colored clothing as long as it is PE clothes - for example, shorts or sweat pants with a t-shirt of their team color. Here are the teams in case you forget: Earth (green): Bea, Russell, Seungbin, Soohyeok, YuChien, Scott Wind (yellow): Daniel, Liz, Rose, Amy, Jayden, Aaron, Jun Water (blue): Hanson, Joshua, Karen, Samuel, Lena, SH Fire (red): Alejandro, Fernando, Ivette, Ivonne, Yejin Students can wear their regular PE clothes - we will face paint and decorate in class as well. No Labs on this day, but ASP will run as usual. Many of you are already aware of Diversity Day/Culture Day on Friday. Both parents and teachers are preparing an exciting day for students to learn about a variety of countries and their cultures. Parents will be in charge of the morning while teachers will run their centres in the afternoon. Other than these events we will have a regular week. In Reading, we have finished reading Number the Stars and students will begin working on their individual and group projects based on the stories. In Science we are gearing up for our final field trip of the year to the National Institute of Biological Resources (more details to follow in an update here later in the week) while in Writing we are working on short pieces which practice our grammar skills. This week in Math we will revisit fractions, decimals, and percents, as well as comparing data. I bid you all a good week! - Mr. Baker |
